Mid summer, I sent in some pictures of my personal garden to an “Excellence in Gardening” competition. By September, I found out that I had won and got some recognition for my little sanctuary. I really try to have a native, organic, somewhat self reliant garden. I compost, collect rain water, and provide small places for insects and creatures to live. These piles of sticks have greatly increased with the addition of our dog, Yarrow, this year.I’m very happy to have gotten a chance to share my garden with the judges. Luckily there was a unique butterfly that was flying around when they were here, maybe helped a little. 😉
